A schizoid personality is defined as an introverted, emotionally detached personality that tends towards isolation and is unable to express emotions.
A schizoid person is characterised by a limited range of emotions and reactions, and prefers to avoid situations involving emotional and social interaction due to a lack of desire for close, intimate relationships and, at times, sexual activity. Consequently, they do not enjoy many activities and prefer solitary hobbies and pursuits, particularly at night, and lose themselves in their imagination to minimise contact with others as much as possible.
